![]() ![]() Almost everyone that I have helped with this kind of problem in more than 20 years of contributing to AE forums either didn't understand that you can't see transparency in a media player or they tried to create their own custom render settings. Until you have studied video formats and codecs you should not attempt to create your own custom settings. Import the rendered file into any NLE or back into After Effects and you will see the transparency and be able to measure the values of the alpha channel using the info panel. The background will always appear to be black. Media players do not support transparency. This leads most folks just getting started in video production to think that something is wrong with the render or that there is some kind of bug. When I queue to render, I select lossless + alpha (Ive also tried custom RGB + alpha) with quicktime selected and it renders a white background instead of transparent one.I had selected the white background, but transparency was toggled when I did the. I have a comp that I made that is a write-on effect. You can make portions of a layer transparent using any of several features in After Effects, including the following: Roto Brush and Refine Edge tools in CC ( See Roto Brush and Refine Edge. The video will have transparency if the comp has transparency. To create a composite from multiple images, you can make parts of one or more of the images transparent so that other images can show through. There is a Lossless With Alpha preset in the Output Module of the Render Cue. ![]()
